TelPay Incorporated
is a privately held Canadian corporation based in Winnipeg,
Manitoba. TelPay Incorporated is owned by TelPay employees
and by the original owners of its predecessor company
-- Comcheq Services Limited. The TelPay system was a
research and development project of Comcheq, started
in 1981, and implemented as a bill payment by telephone
system for public use in 1985. TelPay Incorporated is
now a national technology company with nine IVR system
sites in cities across Canada. As mentioned TelPay not
only pioneered Canada's 'bill payment by phone' system
back in 1985, TelPay is also the first company to provide
individuals and business with a cost-effective method
for transferring money and making e-payments to anyone
inside Canada. The country's largest independent bill
payment processor, TelPay serves hundreds financial
institutions - mostly credit unions, with online banking
modules, online bill payment capability, business oriented
payment software and payment consolidation services.
Total electronic bill payment transactions processed
by TelPay, amount to 21 million transactions worth $12
billion annually.
