Smooth Commerce accelerates speed of mobile app registration to enhance m-commerce experience
New register with Visa Checkout capability showcases first integration of Visa Developer in Canada
TORONTO -- Today Smooth Commerce announced the launch of Register with Visa Checkout in the SmoothPay app, showcasing a first-of-its-kind innovation to enhance the mCommerce experience by speeding up the registration process within mobile applications. The collaboration between Smooth Commerce and Visa marks the first integration of Visa's Developer program in Canada.
"Today's announcement showcases our commitment to deliver better customer experiences and value to our merchant network," said Brian Deck, CEO, Smooth Commerce. "The Visa Developer Program allowed us to conceptualize use cases that didn't previously exist."
Register with Visa Checkout provides users with a streamlined signup process for mobile applications by leveraging their existing Visa Checkout profile—name, email address, payment information, and shipping address -- to speed up registration. The new solution provides a seamless experience for the consumer, and reduces abandoned mobile payment app registrations for merchants.
The Visa Developer Program offers direct access to a growing number of APIs, tools, and support to help build easier, faster and more secure ways to power commerce. Visa Checkout enables shoppers to choose their preferred payment method across multiple retailers with a click of a button and eliminates the need to re-enter card information or be redirected to a payment site.
"Visa Developer is transforming the way we connect with fintechs, encouraging creativity, and expediting the deployment of new products and services," said Derek Colfer, Head of Innovation and Digital Technology, Visa Canada. "We are pleased that Smooth Commerce is driving the first commercial implementation of Visa Developer in Canada – their innovative solution has broad application and is a great made-in-Canada success story."
"With Visa Developer, our team was able to build this solution faster and with more flexibility. The great support from the Visa team facilitated a seamless integration," said Rob McAdam, VP of Partnerships for Smooth Commerce.
