Kitchener's first multi-currency ATM comes to town

KITCHENER--Kitchener-Waterloo residents will now have easier access to foreign currency with the launch of the Thomas Cook Financial Services four-currency automatic teller machine (ATM) in the Waterloo region.

Thomas Cook Financial Services is the first financial institution in Canada to offer multiple currencies - Canadian and US dollars, the Euro and British pounds - from an ATM.

Customers will be shown the day's exchange rate before deciding to make a withdrawal. For those looking for more unusual currencies, Kitchener Northstar Travel - where the ATM is located - offers approximately 100 different types of moneys ranging from the Croatian Kuna, Kenyan Shilling to the Mauritian Rupee. The currencies are ordered and available for next day pick up within a 24-hour period.

The multi-currency ATM is located in the Kitchener Northstar Travel store at 701 Belmont Ave. West in Kitchener.
